Paul’s birthday came and went. It was a quiet day highlighted by the one of our family dance parties while making dinner. Paul really enjoys music and the girls love to boogie. Mostly I was just glad to get through it since I every time I thought about for at least a couple of months leading up to it my stomach hurt. The anticipation was way worse than the actual day. I hope it gets easier as the years go on. It was quite a traumatic day for all of us and it revisits me often even though I try to block it out.
We celebrated his birthday 3 days after the actual day of his birth … the day Paul was warmed from induced hypothermia. Seemed appropriate. It was truly a memorable day shared with many people that we would never never never ever would have made it through the past year without. Paul did great with all of the noise and commotion and even took a nap.
The best part of the day was the surprise of the green No Limits t-shirt and bracelets that my amazing friend Angie Geier designed in support of Paul and our family. Nikki brought P into me while I was hurrying to get ready and he and the girls where all wearing their shirts. I had to bite my cheek to keep the tears from ruining my makeup. You guys are awesome and show you love for us in the perfect ways. I could spend my whole life trying to figure out a way to repay you and nothing I could do could come close. I have said it before but I will say it again … there is no way on God’s beautiful green earth that we would be where we are today without you. xoxo
As, everyone arrived in their green shirts my heart was so touched. I have no idea how they pulled this off. Simply amazing.
Here are some pictures from the day. Thanks to all they came to celebrate the life of our little boy!
