Aquatherapy was a complete and utter SUCCESS!!! I was a bundle of nerves because Paul sort
of has a reputation for being a screamer.
Of course we were late which made me even more anxious but as soon a P
entered the water there was nothing but smiles and laughter. The kids wear a floatation device around
their necks so they are able to move their entire bodies under the water.
The water frees his arms and legs from the pull of gravity
and he was able to kick and move his arms however he wanted. He enjoyed the songs and activities but I
think the best part for him was that he had some control over what he wanted to
do. He wanted to swim away from me and
have a little independence for the first time in his life. My baby is growing up.
I envision summertime and being able to include Pauly in
afternoon swims and my heart feels happy.
My hopes for P is that we can always find away to include him even if we
have to get a little creative to do so! All
kids want to have fun … including Pauly!!
Today was a good and I am already looking forward to next
week! I will get some pictures too!!
