I am pretty sure that God has been prepping me for Paul from before
I was born.
My life, like many, has had
its ups and down but I was given an advantage when he chose my momma.
I don’t know that I would still be standing
if she wouldn’t have been here holding me up all this time.
She is a double scoop of tough, mixed with a
scoop of passion and loyalty, topped with a layer of honesty and sprinkled with
a little bling …. OK, maybe more than a little bling!
She literally held my hand through Paul’s birth because Micah
was out of town.
She took care of my
kids for the 44 days he was in the NICU so that I could spend every waking
minute I could by his side.
She promised
me that she would never leave me on the day that his MRI results came back and
again on the day I realized just how delayed he actually was.
She spend the night with me for months so
that I wouldn’t be alone when Micah was working and kept me going on the
endless nights of no sleep while I cried that I just wanted to die because it
would be the only way that the pain would stop.
She makes us dinner and picks up my kids so that I can take Paul to
therapy.
She has sacrificed a lot to
help keep my family going.

| Right next to me. |
She is a unique soul … undoubtedly, “he broke the mold with
this one”.
Most people love her but some
not so much.
She never holds back.
You can count of her honest truth (whether
you asked for it or not) but you can also count on her to fight to the death
for what she believes in.
I have thanked
my lucky stars a time or two that she was on my side. She doesn’t always win
but I think she deep down know that isn’t what it is all about anyway.
She is a survivor.
She is a talker.
She is embarrassing.
Her heart is enormous.
Oh, and the woman can cook …. Looord, can she cook. Ridiculous!!
She is one of the only things that I am sure of. She is the very essence of the word
mother. Is she perfect …. Nope. Is she crazy ….Yep. She loves hard though. Thank you for staying by my side and teaching
me, yelling at me and never giving up on me … a lesser woman would have.
I surely don’t say it enough but I love you mom. You are the best.
