So, anyway, back to 4:09 ... He screamed for the first hour, laughed for the second and I turned on some music and tried to get a few winks in for the last 30 minutes before the alarm went off.
Aunt DD showed up by 7:00am to help me get the girls off ... Another important person who I would completely sink without!! She was holding Pauly for me while I fed him ... I look down and see food spewing out the side of the tube. Crap!! I got places to be and now I have to stop everything! I have 2 options ... ED or change it myself ... The answer is obvious ... Avoid the hospital at all costs!
I get my supplies together, pull out the old tube, slip the new one into the black hole in P's belly that goes straight into his stomach ... Easy peasy!! I just wish I would have snapped a picture!
No running to get my neighbor who is a nurse, no trip to the ED, no Micah to help me and no panic from me or crying from the girls asking if there little brother was going to die. We have come a long way ... aaaand I kind of felt like a rock star.
So, I am thinking at this point, I am late for Perlman and pretty exhausted ...maybe the universe is trying to tell me to stay home ... If so, I didn't listen and off we went to school.
I am so glad we did! I was expecting a disaster as I pre-apologized to everyone in the class when I walked in for how terrible I thought P would act. Little man is full of surprises ... He actually had a good day and walked down the whole hallway in a harness smiling and laughing ... Something that we haven't been able to get him to do in a while. Proud mama moment!
It was one of those days that again, reminded me not give up because you just never know what little treasure may lay around the corner. If I would have stayed home, I would have missed everything.
