How Paul inspired me today.

It is no secret the my P-man is a screamer.  We have attributed it to everything from neurological irritability, stomach discomfort, behavioral issues and even just being 2.  Truth is, it is probably a combination of all of these things and it is so hard to know.

He hates therapy.  He hates whenever we expect him to do anything.  He gets overwhelmed and it is hard for him to cope with his surroundings.  He has actually been screaming since the NICU.  It mean, a unit full of silent babies is eerily quiet … that is except wails coming from G5.  That boy screamed and screamed.  God bless those volunteers that would hold him in the morning until I arrived.

Anyway,  today, like most therapy days, Paul cried … A lot.  I totally have “that kid!”  He makes me sweat!!!!   It is very difficult but he worked through it and made it until the end.  He didn’t do it alone but still he persevered.   It is so incredibly hard for him but still, he finished.

Paul and his new PT "having a moment" at the end of "school" today.  She really worked
so hard with him to get through the entire 2.5 hours.  I love they way they are looking at each other!

My days hold many ups and downs and are full of moments when I consider throwing in the towel on some of my commitments … but today, I decide to keep going.  I may not be able to do it alone but there are lots of people there to help along the way.  I decide to stay committed and finish.    It may be kicking and screaming but I didn’t give in …. If P can do it, so can I … Thanks, baby boy, for showing me how it is done!
