Norris Lake

The Other Side of the Mountain!

Miss me? =)  Sorry I have been away but I have a really good excuse …

It is always so nice to do something "normal" like take a weekend getaway to the lake.  Micah was supposed to help his dad bring his boat down to Norris Lake in Tennessee for the winter … I wasn’t thrilled because it meant leaving me alone for a long weekend with no nursing to help.  Trying to care for Paul alone is a full time job. Then you add in 3 energetic little girls going in 3 separate directions ... it can be really difficult especially when I am completely by myself for days!  This makes for a cranky mama.

Shortly before they were set to leave, Micah’s mom’s best friend, Bella, offered her house for us all to stay in for the weekend (Thank You Bella!!) ... Soooo, we packed up the car and crossed our fingers.  Pauly was a total rock star in the car … phew …  because that had the potential to have been U-G-L-Y.  We even talked Miss Meghan (his favorite nurse) into coming with us.

Wonders never cease ..

He was such a trooper in the car that we decided to take him out of the boat.  I admit that I said a little prayer as I buckled is life jacket on him.  God must have know we were due for some fun because for the most part he did fantastic.  He wasn’t crazy about the wind in his face (sensory issues) but did awesome in the cabin.  He loved to be bounced around and I think the hum of the engine was actually pretty soothing to him.

Pauly and Mom enjoying the day.

The girls had a complete blast and said it was the best vacation ever … so sad that we haven’t been anywhere as a family since Pauly was born.  They went tubing and fishing and just played together ….they were in heaven.  They are requesting that we move there. =)

Here are some fun pictures from our weekend ... we definitely need to do this more often!
